COVID-19 Employment Update: Employer Rights and Responsibilities
Thursday, March 26, 2020 6:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time - 7:30:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time
Oregon employers are in the midst of an unprecedented call to make informed business decisions quickly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please join Holland & Knight and the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) for a live webinar about the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the food, beverage, restaurant and hospitality industries.

As governments impose travel restrictions and quarantines across the globe, we look at the most pressing issues and options for the food and hospitality industry. Greg Astley, ORLA director of government affairs, will provide introductory remarks and an overview of the current impact COVID-19 measures are having. Dayna Underhill, a partner from the law firm Holland & Knight will address the most frequently asked questions by food service and lodging professionals including the most pressing employment-related issues facing ORLA employers including: rights and responsibilities under the Oregon Paid Sick Leave Act, Oregon Family Leave Act and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act; understanding the implications of and planning for temporary and permanent furloughs and layoffs, voluntary severance programs, and reductions in force; and workplace safety issues that must be addressed in the face of continued work.
