Absolutely horrible service! For over a year, there has been an issue with credit transactions locking up our deposits. It happens because, for some reason, every time we process a credit to a card, it adds a non-existent tip amount (We are a retailer and don't even have a place for tips on our reports). When this happens, we have to have Chosen Payments contact EPay to cancel the transaction and free up the batch because USA Epay won't accept the information directly from us. We are caught in the middle of it and at one point, thousands of dollars were locked up for over two weeks while these two companies fought with each other.
Now, Chosen Payments just seems to ignore our emails and calls and once again we can't close a batch.
Do not deal with this company because their customer service is non-existent.
We're at the point of getting lawyers involved to resolve this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Russell R.Salt Lake City, UT17516544Dec 2, 2021Updated review
I can't escape their clutches. Despite canceling my account in October I'm still getting charged the Authorize.net fee for the account they setup. I was specifically e-mailed and told that Authorize.net had been canceled. I guess my definition of canceled is completely wrong.

My apologies I was wrong. It isn't $40 it is $33 per month. You don't have to charge the fee. You just do. Your compliance program is onerous and extremely time-consuming (over 200 questions to be answered in detail). That time is for someone with knowledge of development, sandboxes etc that I don't use. I can't imagine a layperson trying to get through it. In addition every time I try to run it basically kills my network as if receiving a DDOS attack. So I've paid you $360+ for a service that is in fact not required. Also lest I forget the $129 charged for PCI compliance once a year. That brings my total to $500.00 that I didn't have to pay my previous processor. (Links referencing PCI compliance below and their typical costs)

Let's talk about the $8.00 monthly fee for "insurance". You claim I can opt-out. Funny thing is I didn't ever "opt-in". It is a junk fee that frustrates the crap out of me even trying to figure out how to opt-out since I didn't opt-in.
This is all in addition to Authorize.net at $50.00/month which stores all of our credit card information online. Nothing is run on any desktop let alone stored locally. It is all stored in the cloud with Authorize.net. I specifically signed up with Authorize.net with our software vendor who actually works for Authorize.net as he explained how it keeps our data safe and completely stored only in Authorize.net
Then the 3 months of fees I was charged by Global. Somehow your rep walked me through changing my authorize.net account over to you via conference call but did NOTHING in ensuring my other merchant was notified or that I should notify them.Aug 21, 2020Previous reviewI wish I could switch back. I've been with them way too long. The pitch was good but they didn't bother to mention an $8.00 per month insurance fee that you can "opt out of" but if I didn't request it to start with why are you putting on me to cancel it?
When I switched they notified Authorize.net my gateway but not my prior processor global payments nor did they say anything about needing to do so. There was $150.00 right there.
Also you get charged $40.00 a month if you don't certify PCI compliance quarterly. That only takes 275 questions and a bunch of other crap when in fact we don't store any numbers on our system. They are all stored with Authorize.net. I don't know if they misclassified my company or what but I can not, do not, will not endorse this company to anyone. - Adam B.Atlanta, GA911173Dec 15, 2021
Horrible customer service and slow process, plus confusing third party services and sites for actual merchant services

Very good credit card processing. Very poor customer service. Nearly impossible to get customer service, or the sales department on the phone. Very frustrating. I've been trying to reach a human being for two months about getting my processing limit increased. No call backs from their email contact form, or from the voice mail call back feature. I've attempted many times, and even been on hold for hours. I've given them years of loyal patronage. I'm not sure why they're so bad in this respect. Otherwise great product.

Aug 1, 2016Previous reviewThis place used to process all my transactions for about 6 months. The reason why I stop using them was because they where over charging me on every transaction at the end I did not used them any more and they started to charge me about $30, as a fee for some reason.I contacted them and told them why was I getting charge and that I wanted to cancel everything. They told me I was under a contract and they said I had sign some paper work stating they where going to charge me about $600 to cancel. I remember when I got sign in with this guys the person who contacted me sword it was not a contract and the day I wanted to cancel I was more then welcome to do so. Good thing I had all the emails saved of the conversation of the person who got me sign in and that's how I got off without paying a dime. This place is a scam and there unethical. Taking peoples money.

Chosen Payments is a company that builds their profits on excess charges, while purporting to offer better value. They use cold-calling to develop business, and then apply pressure-tactics to get an account created. Beware - check the contract before you sign! No reputable credit card processing company has a usurious $1499.00 cancellation fee, but Chosen Payments does, and will not transparently disclose it.
With extremely high monthly charges, rude and unresponsive sales personnel, and insanely high hidden fees if you'd like to take your business elsewhere, this is not a good option for credit card processing services.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Taylor K.Encinitas, CA06Jul 17, 2018
Too many good things to say about Chosen Payments processing. After dealing with countless problems with my previous provider, Alex and Zach at Chosen Payments not only were able to give me much better pricing, but also my funds are now deposited the next day (which is really important as I run a small business and need to have funds as soon as possible). I never thought that a relationship with a credit card processing company could be so great. Any time that I have an issue or question about something, they're always available.

The staff is courteous and very helpful but the charge was so high for us. If you're in health care better find other ways in getting paid..

Turns out this is a typical merchant processor that changes their rating structure without notice or consent, screwing you or of your hard earned money. I have been using them for years and was promised no rate changes and no pci compliance fees by Steve W. Well, guess what both things have happened and I didn't catch it immediately, was told my $129/yr pci compliance fee would be refunded, it never was, then they charged me another $129 5 months later, and looking through my bank records last year they charged me a $99 pci fee that slipped under my radar. I had hoped given all their hype about having great customer service it would be true. Nope, just another typical merchant processor who screws you out of your hard earned money for doing absolutely nothing whatsoever. God knows how much money they be stolen from me. Now begins the search for a reputable company.

I started working for a moving and storage company back in October of 2017. The company I work for had already established a processing company but the proposal from Chosen Payments was a much better option for us so we signed up and boy am I glad we did! First and foremost, Alex and Zach are always readily available to answer my questions and walk me through things (sometimes more than once). Secondly, the site is significantly more user friendly than our previous provider. Lastly (and arguably the most important feature for us), the automatic payments for our ongoing charges saves me SO MUCH TIME! Chosen Payments has made my job a lot easier and I'm very thankful for them.
